Hydro-MRT

Gastroenterological diagnostics describes all the examinations that can be employed to recognize diseases and functional disorders of the digestive tract.

In x-ray fluoroscopy, the function of the oesophagus and bowel can be assessed “live” and documented in dynamic series of images.

In a special virtual colonoscopy using computed tomography (CT colonography, CT colonoscopy) it is possible to examine the colon for polyps or tumours if a traditional colonoscopy has proved unsuccessful.

Chronic inflammatory bowel diseases, e.g. colitis ulcerosa or Morbus Crohn, can be depicted in a special examination using magnetic resonance tomography (hydro-MRT, MRT enteroclysis).
