Neuroradiological Diagnostics

Neuroradiological diagnostics

Neuroradiology, a sector of radiology, specializes in the diagnostics and therapy of diseases of and changes to the central nervous system (CNS), i.e. of the brain and the spinal cord including its encasing and neighbouring structures.

A wide spectrum of modern imaging processes is available for this, specifically magnetic resonance tomography (MRT), computed tomography (CT) and sonography (ultrasound).

The continual improvement of existing methods, as well as the development of new ones permits increasingly detailed insight into the structures and functions of the organs. Thus, for example, today it is possible to obtain even more precise results in the field of infarction diagnostics. Using MR spectroscopy it is possible to characterize illnesses of the central nervous system more accurately.
